A recent and quite typical transaction completed by Fairfield Industries was one where we combined with a major property company, Prospect Estates, when we purchased a Yorkshire manufacturing business of some considerable scale. Due to CONFIDENTIALITY reasons we are unable to provide exact details but we basically saved the business from going into administration and retained all 130 jobs. This was achieved with the introduction of some very modern, high production equipment, it was possible to increase the turnover and sales of the business and completely turn round it's fortunes.
The photograph above shows our Chairman Mr. Bernard J. Ord, along with the Chairman of Prospect Estates Mr. John E. Lund, signing a transaction with the Chairman of the European PLC who purchased the entire share capital of the business.
The two pictures above show our Chairman explaining to the employees exactly what has been done; assuring them that all of their jobs have been safeguarded; that the new PLC owners intend to continue the expansion programme and that we are confident things can only get better.
The above case is just an example of one type of transaction that we at Fairfield become involved in and as you will appreciate all of our business is of a private and confidential nature. Our preferred methodology is to work directly with the owners and shareholders of the business. But on occasion we work through officially appointed agents and brokers, who have been given the mandate to find a buyer for the business. Where owners and shareholders would like to have confidentiality by having their accountants or lawyers act on their behalf in the first instance we are very happy and willing to work in that kind of relationship and look forward to receiving enquiries from qualified professionals in those fields.
